Hillsborough Network
Dykes Hall Medical Centre are very excited to announce that we have collaborated with our neighbouring Hillsborough Practices; Far Lane Medical Centre, Tramways Milner and Tramways Bradley, to form the Hillsborough Network.
We will continue to operate as four separate GP practices in the main but will come together when we feel working at scale will benefit our patients. For example we have employed two new members of staff to work across the Hillsborough Network - a first contact physiotherapist and a health link worker. We anticipate hiring more staff in this way as the network develops enabling us to better meet the needs of our community.
First Contact Physiotherapist - For any musculoskeletal problems, joint / back pains or sports injuries please book in directly with our new in house physiotherapist via the reception team. You will be fully assessed, advised on how to manage your problem and any necessary referrals or investigations will be made by the physio directly.
Social Prescriber/ Health Link Worker - For any problems relating to emotional wellbeing, healthy lifestyle, physical activity, social networks, family and parenting, employment and welfare and benefits please book in directly with our reception team to see our new in house social prescriber. Our social prescriber can help you in many ways and help navigate you to the correct service that will benefit you the most.
As a Network all practices are now also offering Extended Hours to the patients, allowing patients to be seen first thing in the morning, early evening and at the weekend.
We have also collaborated with the Sheffield Wednesday to offer a free weight management service to our patients with, or at risk of cardiovascular disease. Please ask at reception if you are interested - the first course starts in January, a great way to implement New Year's resolutions!
We hope the Hillsborough Network will develop over the coming years allowing us to continually improve services to our patients and strengthen our community.
