Teaching Practice

We are involved in training GP speciality trainees and Foundation doctors.

GP speciality trainees are qualified doctors who have already completed their hospital training and are receiving more training to become GP's. Foundation doctors are qualified doctors who have not decided which speciality they would like to enter. They will see patients at the consultation stage. The trainee doctors may sometimes want to video consultations for teaching purposes. In this case, you would be warned in advance and  asked for your written permission. You do not have to agree to having your consultation recorded.

All trainees are under supervision with one of the GP partners, and have regular de-briefs to discuss the consultations each clinic. You can choose not to see one of the trainees if you prefer

We are also involved in training of student nurses, who often sit in on consultations with the practice nurses. We will always ask you whether you are willing to have a student nurse present.
